MUSIC AND HUMAN MIGRATION

The history of humans on earth is about migration. All humans have migrated or had ancestors who did.All humans have music and it appears always did. While we usually think of music as something for our personal delectation the fact that it is ubiquitous suggests that it must have a very important function in human society. Music is an aspect of culture that we can use to learn much about the culture that sustains it as well as illustrating important aspects of the patterns of human migration.
