Under a grant from IREX and with the cooperation of the Romanian Academy of Sciences, I conducted research on Romanian Urban Gypsy Music. In addition and in cooperation with the Bucharest Folklore Institute I travelled all over the country and made recordings of the traditional music.

I also did some study of the Romanian folk form, the doina and have placed some of this information here on this web site.
